. CHARITABLE ADVERTISING on Web Site
There are many worthwhile charitable causes in existence, but we can only accept sponsorship or fundraising efforts on Fusilier Association websites, that specifically support approved Fusilier charities.
This essentially means that it is acceptable to use these pages to seek sponsorship for The Fusiliers Aid Society (which includes Fallen Fusiliers), and The Fusilier Memorial fund only.
We now have our own dedicated justgiving site (http://www.justgiving.com/fusiliersaidsociety), which you can use to help raise money for your cause. If you let RHQ (Asst Regt Sec) know the specific cause you are raising money for, it will be directed to the correct fund.
Messages soliciting sponsorship for causes or charities other than the Fusilier ones mentioned above should not be placed on the message board and may be removed by the Webmaster.
Messages posted in the last 24 hrs. are in White.
RHQ N - CORVID 19 - Update 2 IP: 126.96.36.199 Posted on 10/4/2020 at 16:10:15 by Dennis Laverick
Here is the latest update from RHQ.
After instruction from HQ Inf, Linda our Chief Clerk can no longer work in the RHQ building – even though she lives in the locked down Tower of London, 50 m away from RHQ. She is sneaking in every few days, but no-one can take calls or messages. If you need any RHQ info, please call me.
After last week’s bedding in activities, the Bn is now settling into a training and NATO co-operation phase. Still confined to barracks when not in the field, they have no C19 cases.
After the Army announced a major re-joiner campaign, we have been working with 1 FUSILIERS on a targeted approach to those we would like back in the Regt and ignoring those we don’t. The Bn does not need Fusiliers, they need JNCOs and young SNCOs, especially those with Brecon and Sp Wpn qualifications. Y Coy in Tidworth have already had a good number withdraw their terminations.
Y Coy as ROG in Tidworth have still not been tasked and are doing what training they can.
There have been rumours in the press that 1 FUSILIERS tour will be extended and this is clearly upsetting for the families. These are press speculations and the rumours are not true. They will return as planned.
Although 110 were mobilised and are now technically on 5 days NTM, the whole reserve mobilisation piece seems to be slowing for those without driving, engineering or technical skills. The Bn is now aligned with 51 Bde and awaiting any tasking.
No real change from last week. Col Gorski now holds weekly Zoom meetings for updates etc. They have settled into a routine (as we all have) and the focus is now what to do post lockdown to rebuild visitor numbers and event bookings.
The next update will be next Friday. Have a safe and sane Easter.
