It was cold and wet, snow layered upon the ground that easily gave way as copper colored legs push through it all. A small face appears, peering through the trees and across the meadow, eyes searching but coming up empty much to our girl's dismay. A heavy sigh escapes her lips while her head drops to the snowy ground below, pushing the cold mush around with her nose to find some grass that was barely hanging on but it would be enough for her. Thoughtfully chewing, eyes staring off into the distance, Annette thinks of how she had come to find herself on her mother's home island.
It had been late at night when Annette woke to find her wayward mother gone, the mute mare had disappeared long after her daughter had fallen asleep. She had no clue what would bring her mother back here after her last trip to the islands, so annette worried of course and was quick to track her trail into the ocean and then finally here, where she was able to find a faint scent trail. Annette still did not see her mother, but as her eyes do another pass over they catch on to another russet colored beast hidden in the trees. It was not who she was looking for but perhaps they had seen her mother.
With a determined look to her face Annette heads over, signaling her approach with a warm nicker of greeting and curious ears that eagerly lean towards the lone stallion. Nothing about him called to her, or roused any feelings, because truthfully Annette had no idea of who this man was in front of her. He was just another stranger. "Hello there," Annette greets with a soft voice, " i am hoping you can help me find someone. I tracked her all the way here but it's my first time here on the islands and i'm at a loss." |
