She knew there were other foals around but hadn't seen any since meeting the colts of Desirie and Shaydowfax, her mother's friends. Both mares were gone now though so Raptor could only assume the colts were as well. It was disappointing but such was life, right? She wouldn't brood on it. She would make her own fun! She continued to race along the dunes, kicking up her heels and crying out as loudly as she could. Who was going to stop her? Her head snapped up as she caught a whiff of someone else. Turning her gaze, she saw the black colt right about the time he cried out and reared up. It looked like he was proclaiming himself king of the hill or something. Smirking, she thought about racing over to challenge him for it, just because, but then he was racing down toward her. She slid to a stop in the deep sand, dancing on her hooves as he reached her. She kept her head up and her bright eyes locked on him, taking him in. Her nostrils flared, drinking in his scent. He smelled familiar. Who was he? He knew her name and her eyes widened, one brow arching in surprise as her ears pricked toward him. He gave his name as Balavant and said his mother was Desirie. So she left him here? Curious. She smiled. and nodded. "Yeah, I'm Raptor. Didn't your mother leave? How come you're still here?" She hoped it didn't hurt his feelings to talk about it. She'd just never heard of a mother leaving their child. Then trying to lighten the mood, she lifted her head with a snort, her eyes narrowing in challenge. "So, think you're a king or something? I take your king and raise you a queen." Her lips tugged into a grin as her tail swished and she pawed the sand.
