The stallion seemed almost amused when Geneva nipped at his cheek and it only made Cain more curious of what his customs were in his former herd. It must have been very different for him. Cain didn't have anything to go off of himself. His time with his home herd as a foal is blurry at best. He mostly remembered running with other foals and that terrifying time when the flying machine drove them into a pen and separated him forever from his family. After that, it was just the years spent in captivity that stuck out the most in his mind. They always would. Crow followed as Geneva led them to water and Cain stayed back as the other stallion walked into the water and started to drink. When Legolas approached, Cain could feel the stallion's gaze steady on him as if wanting to see how he interacted with his son.

Cain didn't mind him watching. He wanted the whole world to see how proud he was of each of his children. They were all perfect in his eyes, and destined for something great. He didn't care if they wanted to lead their own herds some day or even just reside in a herd and find a single mare to settle down with. Even if they joined the Peak mares or the Lagoon stallions, he knew he would be proud of them either way. He hoped he was raising them right and he hated that he wasn't getting that time with Paisley but he hoped to make up for it some day. Crow greeted Legolas, saying he was there to make sure they stayed safe. Cain nodded in agreement and smiled. He wanted Legolas to get to know other stallions so he had other male role models to talk to.

Geneva was good at her mothering duty, helping the herd thrive and looking over every member like they were her own. When Crow asked if there was anything else he should see, a single ear flicked toward his lead mare as she spoke, telling him about the cave before letting the stallion know about the lack of predators in the area. He nodded in agreement. "For now, feel free to rest as long as you need to. I'm sure you know how to get a feel for our herd borders and learn the land. If you have any questions, feel free to call for me." He gave a smile. Legolas made a comment about the stallion being tall before saying he was going to protect them too and Cain's eyes twinkled with pride. He went over to nuzzle his son's mane affectionately with a chuckle. "You'll be able to take me on soon enough, Legolas." Looking back at Crow, he pricked his ears. "Anything else you need, Crow?" He was offering for the stallion to go be by himself for a bit unless he wanted company a little longer.
