sent from the heavens above...

Duckie had mostly quieted down to just standing there mostly, the flick of her tail the only movement since she trotted over. That helped to relax Angel a little bit, though the constant knowledge that another horse just as large or larger hovered just behind her kept him on his toes anyway. Sure, the stallion had done nothing to show hostility, but he wouldn't be back there watching if the mare didn't mean something to him so Angel had to assume any wrong move would seen the stallion barreling down on him. It would be a misunderstanding, whatever his crime would be. He knew that without a doubt for how could he offend or hurt a mare who intimidated him? Yet she seemed so at ease. She had to know the stallion was watching. Mate or sibling? There was really no telling. They looked a lot alike but Angel knew that meant nothing.

Duckie must have noticed his constant looking over her shoulder cause she shifted her own nose to look and groaned at what she saw. Angel's ears flicked back in uncertainty, not knowing how she would react with the news. Did she not know he was back there lurking? The mare grunted and shook her head before telling him it was a pleasure to meet him and said the stallion was her brother, Goose. Angel pricked his ears at the name, listening as she said the paint stallion was harmless unless provoked. Angel swallowed at the thought. Aren't most? She said Goose probably didn't want to be social right now and Angel nodded in understanding. "That's alright. I didn't expect an audience to my troubles." He offered a small smile, letting her know he was okay with her coming to him anyway.

When he told her about Solaris, she seemed to take it all in stride, saying she was sorry life got him down and that perhaps some day he would have her again. Angel gave a defeated sigh at that. He wasn't sure he would ever have Solaris in his life ever again but it was sweet of the mare to say it. She had made her choice right there in front of him, choosing to leave with Raider rather to go with him, even though she just told him she loved him. He finally offered a little shrug, not wanting to dismiss Duckie's words when all she was trying to do was comfort him. "You're right. There's always hope." When she spoke next, he tilted his head in puzzlement, thinking she was talking to him until he saw she was talking to her brother instead. In answer, the stallion sighed before he came trotting over.

Angel felt himself brace once more, having not had too many run-in's with other stallions that didn't lead to threats or bad vibes. When the stallion stopped before them, Angel offered a sheepish smile, wanting to be friendly but all he could think of was how big the stallion was and how he could probably squash him with one look. Angel had been doing some sparring over the past couple months but so far it wasn't helping his confidence a lot. Duckie introduced him and he allowed it, his ears pricking as the paint stallion cleared his throat and inroduced himself again, mentioning that his sister probably already did that. He gave a small nod of agreement. Then the stallion said it was rare to see a stallion alone before he pointed out that he wasn't anymore. Angel could only assume he meant that cause they were now in his company.

He gave another small nod. "I live in a herd but my lead mare is away to fight and I couldn't just keep watching the ocean waiting for her to return...." He wondered vaguely how pathetic that must sound. Pretty damn pathetic. Guess they'll get to know you pretty quickly. Clearing his throat as he tried to think of something else to talk about, he glanced around before looking between the two draft horses. "So do you two live in a herd or are you new on the islands?"
