Solomon
Solomon was more than ready to go home. Not only would he be able to give Shaydowfax the news that she could claim the Dunes as her own once more without having to risk her life for it (beyond the swim of course), but he had another new mare to accompany him back. It would likely be his last claim for a while, considering that with Shaydowfax out of the Cove, he would need to be on his toes to keep it protected. Still he wanted to grab one last bite to eat before he made the swim home and had detoured on the trip from the Commons back to the Falls.

Many good things had happened for him in both the Falls and the Meadow, and he was rather partial to both meeting spaces.

As he sauntered ashore, body still slick with the chill of the ocean, his gaze flicked over the land. What greeted him was a mare, swollen with foal, that was being approached by a rather upset young stallion. The boy was chocolate in color with pale locks and seemed almost small compared to the sturdy mare with her protruding stomach, but no less determined for it.

Sol moved close enough to hear the stallion speak, and the gist of the situation was made clear. An escapee then? Interesting.

Remembering his own recalcitrant mare back home, Solomon was intrigued to see how such a young male would deal with it. He continued to pace closer as the stallion elaborated, naming the Lagoon as the mare's prison. Interesting. The only stallion he had known of the Lagoon had been the irritating roan from the Commons, which hadn't endeared the tobiano to the all-male paradise originally. However, in light of his upcoming situation, making a few friends with the Lagoon wouldn't necessarily go amiss.

Decision made, Solomon approached the duo, making no clear move against or toward the mare. His gaze traces over her briefly, appreciatively as he introduces himself with a curt utterance of his name. "Solomon."

He turns to address the stallion first, knowing that if he is to get the stallion and his cronies on his side, he will need to do a bit of legwork.

"Want some help?" He glances toward the mare again, this time taking the time to appreciate the lithe lines of her body and the fierce expression on her face. He is reminded, again, of the qualities that he seeks in the mares that he intends to keep permanently.

A fierce and loyal mare would be worth her weight in gold. This mare may be fleeing the Lagoon for a myriad of reasons, but if she considered his stepping in to be some sort of help to her, it may inspire the loyalty he sought. And if not, it's not as though she could hate him more than Coda. Inspiration struck him then and he turns back to the stallion, a glint in his eye. "I'll help you, if you like. But I also have a proposal. I have a pretty girl that I would very much like to rehome considering we don't particularly get along. You'd be free to take her to the Lagoon in exchange for this mare."

He isn't sure how shrewd of a dealmaker the colt is, and he doubts that he holds a high ranking considering his youth, but Sol adds more to sweeten the pot anyway. He'd planned to send at least one of his sons, if not multiples of them, to the Lagoon when they were of age in order to give them some fighting experience and encourage them to make alliances outside of just family. "To sweeten the pot since she's expecting, I'll promise one of my sons to the Lagoon when he reaches his first birthday. That way you exchange one mare for one and gain a loyal brethern in exchange."

He did not speak it, but there was no guarantee that the child the mare carried would make it. This was a far more certain bet than hoping that the unhappy mare who had risked her life to try to escape would not only give birth to a live foal, but that the resulting child would grow up to have any use to the Lagoonies.

OOC: Figured since I technically still have him in the Common area and since Romanov is currently technically still at the Cove, I'd throw this option out to make some trouble :3
