She didn't have many dreams at his point beyond waiting for the spring to roll around so she could swim to the mainland and meet other horses besides the ones in her own herd. She wondered how many friends she would make and if any of the other foals were jerks, she would put them right in their place. She wasn't really into romance at this point. That stuff was icky, but if there was someone cute, she might keep them in mind for when she got older. At this point, she just wanted someone to play with and run with across the dunes. She had plenty of time to think beyond that. Her mother seemed happy enough as a herd mare though Raptor already hated the changing of tides when a new leader would come in. Already, it seemed like half the herd had left when Sauron's mother, Shaydowfax, returned to the Dunes. She didn't get why it mattered so much. It's not like they were kicked out right? She didn't understand loyalty and all that just yet. Her brown eyes twinkled with mischief as she saw the paint colt jump off the rock he was on and launch himself toward her. Flattening her own ears to her scalp, she narrowed her eyes in challenge and reached for more strides across the sand, picking up speed. She wouldn't back down from a challenge and that's exactly what he'd given her. When he got close, her head jerked up and a grin painted her lips as he said that of course he came to see her. As he went for a nip, she giggled and threw her head at him, trying to bump it into his neck or shoulder playfully. He asked if she missed him and she tilted her head as if she needed to think about it. Of course she already knew her answer but she was trying to be coy. Finally she snickered and nodded, her ears pricking as she turned to face him. "Of course, I did, silly!" He said he was happy his mother got the herd back and he hoped she kept it this time. "As long as she gets more foals to make up for the ones who left, I'm game." She just felt lonely with most of the herd leaving when Shaydowfax got here. She'd noticed since birth of course that he had no ears but it didn't make much difference to her. He still could hear her apparently and he could talk back so why would she care? He was growing into a handsome enough stallion too as he aged and developed. Even without ears, she was sure he was going to have plenty of suitors. He suddenly said that he'd been thinking about things and her ears pricked. He said he was going to be king here some day and she tilted her head with a smirk. "Cocky, are we?" She couldn't help but taunt him. Then he asked if she would be his queen. The words stumped her and her head jerked up in surprise, eyes widening as her ears flicked back. A queen? She snorted and pawed the sand at her hooves as she thought for a minute before she met his gaze again. "I don't know if I can give you an answer right now, Sauron. While being a queen sounds like fun, I don't know if I'll still want to be here when I'm older. The sand has gotten boring and I hear there are much different places out there." Her eyes glowed at the thought as she looked back toward the shoreline and the other islands that lay just beyond. She turned back when he said he would give her the world and she couldn't help but giggle, feeling very flattered. She smirked. "And I'd love ya for it, Sauron, but I want to SEE the world too. Not just this stupid desert." She didn't want to hurt his feelings. This was her home. She was born and raised here, but she knew there HAD to be other places out there, places not just of sand and weeds and dunes to climb up and down on. Past all that water, there had to be prettier places than this. And she wanted to see it. Maybe in the end, she'd get bored and come right back here where she knew every niche and cranny, but for now, her mind thought only of exploring and adventure and she wanted it all.
