honey and gold for the taking open

Though she had taken the extra time to rest, Nadja was exhausted by the swim to Salem. She had broken it up by swimming to the Crossing isle and traveling for a while on foot, but the cold had seemed to seep into her bones and she felt she would never warm up, even when the sun began to bleed heat into the waters as she drew near.

She stepped from the waves and into the white sand, then stopped to shake out her shadowy blue coat. She would come to appreciate the heat on this island, but for now she remained rather grumpy and shivered despite the beating sun. She began her trek up the first dune of the territory, scenting the air as she went to try and find Shaydowfax. She caught the scent quickly enough, following it for a little ways before spotting the handful of bodies that lived in the Dunes. It was much less crowded here than the Cove, which she thought was a good thing. She wasn’t sure if this territory was separated into different herds like the Cove, or if everyone here lived as one solid herd. There were faces she didn’t recognize, but that was nothing new; she hadn’t recognized any faces in the Cove, either.

Though she was tired and not terribly in the mood to socialize, Nadja descended the dune she was observing from and gave a friendly nicker for anyone who was listening. She was unfamiliar with the territory, and if no one was too busy, she hoped to ask for help in finding some water, and maybe get to know some of the faces she would be living with here.
