Did Lead Water Pipes Lead to the Fall of Ancient Rome?

One of the things that caught my attention when watching a TV documentary this afternoon about the downfall of civilizations over the centuries, was the suggestion that the use of lead water pipes might have contributed significantly to the downfall of the ancient Roman empire.
Checking this out, I found that, although this was an interesting theory, apparently such was not the case. (See below link).

For a listing of some of the reasons for the fall of Rome, see below: https://www.ducksters.com/history/ancient_rome/fall_of_rome.php

[One learns something new every day.
When seeing a reference in the above link to the "great Roman Emperor Trajan", I realized that I had never heard of the guy.
(When I checked with my wife, she knew all about Trajan(!)  This was apparently because of the Classical High School that she attended).
See below for some words about Trajan: https://www.ancient.eu/trajan/].
