GOD WON'T SAVE YOU NOW

Warsaw
you should have known the price of evil

Being badly wounded in the war actually humbled the stallion. This pain he felt reminded him he was not immortal and his age was quickly catching up with him. The younger generation were growing stronger and as each one defeated him in battle he learned age and experience didn't always mean he would be victorious. He still had a great deal on the new faces around the islands, but he was also prepared to share his knowledge with those worthy of it.

Zjeena shows her respect in her posture and by the bob of her skull. Warsaw replies in the same manner, giving her a small nod for her own self importance. Zjeena may not hold the power here that she does on Atlantis, but she was still the mate of an ally and would be treated with respect. Warsaw did not give many mares the respect they might deserve, but he did give it to some deserving. Xiomara was one of those mares he gave more credit than usual and Zjeena was another.

Those might be the only two mares he could deal with leading a herd aside from being a lead mare. He still wouldn't suggest the idea to any of them, but those two he could make an exception for. His ears perk as she begins speaking. He was very curious about where this first meeting would lead. Alliances? She spoke such large words for a mare he has only met in various stores across the islands. His posture straightens as best as he could with the pain in response to Zjeena's strong start.

He figured she was going to ask for something big by the way she speaks on Paradise's loyalty. In turn, he has been loyal to Paradise from the start. He has been loyal to Rougaru since they first meet back when he owned the Desert and Zjeena wasn't even a thought in their heads. His head tilts curiously as he wonders what she was leading up to in mentioning dead weight. He had a theory, but he waits to hear the name fall from her lips. Ah, Liland.

"Liland seems to make himself the thorn in everyone's side." He chuckles with a smirk of entertainment dancing on his lips. "I was already aware Liland would not be participating in the war. He claimed to me that he was only seeking peace for his family." Warsaw remembers the talk he had with Liland last spring as if it had just been yesterday. He had never expected the Fjord to join in his fight, but that had been one of their agreements to keeping his kingship on track. "You see, my main mission is to keep my family on top. Tinuvel is my Monarchy and I plan to pass it onto my kin and for them to pass it to their kin and so on. Unfortaunly, Liland regained his claim on the Bay and so I had to find common ground with him to avoid another needless fight. I needed all my strength for the upcoming war."

He knows he could have easily pushed back against Liland and then challenged to take the Bay away from him in the next season, but his war plans were too great. He had led his army that summer towards Luthien and it was only now that he really had time to think about the good of his islands going forward. His injures were giving him the time to sit back and watch what was happening in the Bay and Cove. "There are some that disagree, my son for example. He thinks if Liland had taken his part than I might have had enough support to keep myself protected. Maybe he is correct, but I left knowing I didn't have Liland's aid in my army."

"But Liland did go against my wishes in another way. He also tried to demand that I keep Rougaru from attacking him. I refused him of this, but I did agree to have a chat with Rougaru. I have yet to have the time until now, but as you see I am unable to travel." His teeth grind before he speaks again. "Liland threatened he would revoke his agreement to allow my Kingship if something happened he didn't like. I don't like being threatened especially by someone who claims to want peace for his family, the same thing I seek." His hoof stomps in the snow as a snort blows moisture into the air. Liland was known to contradict his words and meanings. That was one thing Warsaw was always wary about the Fjord stallion.

"Since you know the happenings in Paradise answer me this. Why did Rougaru choose to attack Liland again and for his entire herd at that? What makes him so angry?" He had a guess as he watches Zjeena's reactions. Back in the day, Warsaw would have found it foolish to risk the love of a mare (getting vengeance for her) not worth it. It was only his gain he was after, but since developing his relationship with his Queen he understood the difference between a mare and a mate. "Rougaru must really have deep feelings for you." He knows this because Rougaru was similar to himself in a lot of ways.
