PERSEPHONE

Persephone waited for Veringetorix’s response with pricked ears. It was one which might have determined their relationship for the future. It was good, then, that the stallion’s response was a positive one, and one which was so refreshing to Persephone’s ears after all the trouble of recent times. It would take time to trust him, but this short exchange gave her hope at least.

She nodded at his words, and a small smirk even curled her lips as he labelled the bachelors fools.

“I’m glad we are in agreement on that point,” she agreed playfully.

She nodded again at the mention of war, her expression sobering again.

“Oh, they will.”

But she did not wish to dwell on the matter. She shook her head, pushing the thoughts away, then offered Vercingetorix a small smile.

“Then I thank you, Vercingetorix,” she replied, her tone earnest. She glanced around then, turning to leave. “I suppose I don’t need to show you around, then, but come, let me introduce you to the others if they’re around.”
