Meadow

It seemed this question was not as intrusive as the first Faolain had asked. The chestnut stallion gave the answer freely, conversationally, and the black Teke found herself listening to him in enjoyment. She would have liked to know about his findings on the mainland; she thought their stories of the lands outside of these isles might be relatable, albeit long. She decided if she saw him again, or if it seemed like this meeting would stretch on, she would ask further. For now, she was unaware how long the chestnut intended on staying, or how interested he was in carrying a lengthy conversation, but she appreciated the exchange as it currently was nonetheless.

When he introduced himself as Shamwari, the slender black mare bobbed her head and responded with her own late introduction. "Faolain," she said. "It is nice to meet you, Shamwari." She took a moment to consider his question. She knew of her options for further exploration, and had considered most of them to some degree, but had not yet decided on one in particular. "Truthfully, I don’t yet know where I’m headed next," she admitted with an almost guilty half-grin, as though she’d been caught without an expected plan. She did usually have a plan; it was rare for the small mare to be without one, and she was unaccustomed to indecisiveness, though she had to forgive herself. This was a truly unfamiliar place, and did not follow the rules she was used to seeing on the mainland, despite the great variety she had encountered. She thought it might be quite frightening to most new arrivals, but aside from the indecisiveness, Faolain thought it was all rather exciting.

"I have quite a few options," she mused. "I do know it’s about time to venture off the Crossing. I’ve been here long enough, I think. I could venture to see the other islands and learn from them."
