It was spring time! He was officially a yearling and it was time to venture out of the Desert and see the rest of the world. The tobiano colt made sure his father knew where he was going before he launched himself into the waves and started the swim for the mainland. His father had pointed him in the general direction but warned him to be careful of older horses that might weave sweet webs of deceit. He would be on his toes. A part of him even hoped he might run into his mother and make sure she was okay. He was a little disappointed that he hadn't seen her in so long. Did something happen to her during the war? He knew it would devastate his father if so. He glanced back as he swam, wondering if Legolas would come along. A part of him also wondered if he might run into Paisley. He worried about his sister and hoped she was okay, wherever she was. Once his hooves reached the shores of the Meadow, he shook out his coat and pranced further inland. Sweet grass spread out before him like a buffet and he gasped at the beauty of it all. They didn't have this in the Desert! He charged forward into it, kicking up his heels and bucking before he did a wide circle and slowed up to lower his head and grab a few hasty bites of grass. Dang, that was good! He chewed loudly in satisfaction as he looked around, ears swiveling as he tried to see if there was anyone else here. Tossing his head, he gave out a cry, wondering if other yearlings would be out and about. Surely there had to be others interested in getting out to see the world beyond their own herd territory!
