Her father seemed to be amused by the idea that she wasn't going into Tinuvel a queen, rather just an heir's girlfriend, the way she saw it. Would she really have that much power? Her eyes narrowed in determination. Fine, then she would MAKE her own power. Those horses wouldn't know what hit them when she paraded onto their island and made it her home. She only half listened as he explained that Ironclad was also young and that he needed to be prepared to rule. He mentioned that Warsaw wouldn't live forever and that made her gaze snap sharply to his own as if she could read his mind cause in that moment, it left the thought that he wouldn't either...but she shook her head of such things. No, her father wasn't a young buck but he wasn't old in her opinion either. Rougaru would live many more years before he ran to the meadow in the sky.

She scowled and tossed her head. "How does one prepare for that, though? Were you prepared?" Her head tilted as she studied her father, genuine curiosity shining in her two toned eyes. She followed as they went looking for her mother and it didn't take them long to find her. She always had a sharp tongue for Rougaru and for herself so Medusa wasn't surprised when the paint mare teased about what they could possibly be up to. She flicked an ear back to hear her father's response, her lips twitching with humor as Monster only snorted and flattened her ears, obviously unconvinced. "Only that sharp reptilian gleam in your eyes, cocoa bean." She purred as he reached for her mane. The tobiano tensed instinctively at his touch, her skin's ripple of pleasure the only sign she liked it before she tossed her head and snaked her neck to nip at his skin in retaliation.

She held her ground though, allowing him to be near for a moment before a single ear flicked back to hear him speak. He was choosing his words carefully so she made sure to listen attentively, not wanting to miss a single detail. Medusa pretended to graze close by, though it was clear she was paying just as much attention to the conversation. When an heir of Warsaw was mentioned, Monster's eyes cut sharply to her daughter, having a feeling already she knew where this was going. What she was surprised by was the lack of surprise on Medusa's features, like she already knew. The dun paint's tail flicked at her flanks in agitation, a rattling snort leaving her nostrils as she turned her attention back to her mate. She knew she needed to hear the rest, even if she already had her theories.

A brow shot up at the mention of a betrothed, glancing once more in her daughter's direction for a reaction but finding nothing other than feigned disinterest. Which of course only meant Medusa was really watching the conversation intensely. She was invested in it and she seemed to favor her father's side or she'd be sure to voice her own protest; Monster was sure of it. So she was okay with belonging to another already? She was only a yearling! Monster clenched her jaw as she thought it over. It wasn't often that she was lost for words but she knew she needed to weigh everything in this instance. She wasn't the one most affected here. This had to be about Medusa, not her own wants. Her sides trembled with anxiety at the thought of not being able to see her daughter every day and know that she was okay. Was she worried about Medusa's wellbeing? Not really. Medusa was strong, just as she had been raised.

She would handle herself just fine. Monster knew she was being selfish and that was her true protest...her only protest really. Medusa wanted to go out in the world and explore. She wanted more than Paradise could offer. Monster knew that just from watching her this past year. She'd already grown so much in personality just as much as in stature. She couldn't keep her here forever. It would be cruel of her. Finally she let out a breath and turned her gaze to meet those of her mate, knowing he was waiting on her final word. Respect and gratitude flashed in her gaze, knowing as the lead stallion, he didn't have to come to her with this. He could have just agreed to the terms and sent Medusa off without an opinion on her end. It was his right as the leader and her father. He respected her enough to tell her and give her opportunity to disagree. That said more than any words ever could and Monster was grateful. She dipped her head and Medusa recognized the gesture well enough to finally lift her head, a new kind of excitement flashing in her eyes cause she already knew what her mother would say.

"If it is as his betrothed and not just a trinket of the herd then I know she'll be well cared for. I know you trust Warsaw and that's enough for me." She took another breath before continuing. "If that is her wish, Medusa may go." When she finally looked to make eye contact with her daughter again, Medusa was grinning at her like a fool, her head held high and her ears pricked forward, looking every bit like the strong herd mare Monster knew she would be some day. With a toss of her head, she swished her tail and trotted toward them to bump her head against her mother's shoulder affectionately. "You don't have to worry about me, Mom. I'll be safe." She knew that's what Monster wanted to hear, even though she was more thinking along the lines of: "I'll make him my bitch."
