Don't be a drag, just be a queen

It is with immense pleasure that she catches his roving gaze and a trill of delight shivers through her body. It was admittedly a subtle maneuver on his part, deployed only when her attention was elsewhere. Despite the way her gaze flashed to Paradise, it is only on this golden gem that she focuses for the moment. Rougaru had his charms, but he wanted her the same way a collector wanted that last piece to place in his trophy case. He wanted her because she defied him and because she was beautiful. He did not yearn for her the way she wanted him to, and thus, she was restless.

Like a shark scenting blood in the water, she took Ailill's gaze for the weakness she was hunting for and rewarded it with a slow, almost bashful grin as she ducked her gaze away. His laugh pulled her back like a magnet and she smiled with him, a flutter of eyelashes acknowledging the praise that he doles out.

There is a brief pause and her lips purse as she studies him, weighing the best way to proceed to wrap him around her black stocking clad leg. And then he does it for her and her gaze glitters with delight.

A soft peal of laughter comes from her and then tapers as she gauges his seriousness, her breath hitching. She gives her head a little shake, letting the wisps of her mane dance again, as though convincing herself that surely, he must be jesting. "I couldn't ask you to do such a thing."

Her ears flick back and then forward, and the elegant mare casts a glance toward Paradise with her brow furrowed. As though her decision was made, the young mare takes a tentative, solitary step toward Ailill. It is a dance to her, a careful crafting of reactions to give and take to coax the result she wanted from his lips.

"But..." She hesitates, drawing in a breath. "But I would certainly be happier with someone who wanted me, for me."

This is perhaps not an entirely fair picture to paint of Rougaru. While Vanya did not feel he desired her with the depth that she demanded, there was no denying that the stallion had gone to lengths to capture, subdue and protect her. The silvered stallion was fully aware of who she was, and wanted her all the same. Vanya, however, was firmly of the mind that he would either learn to cherish her more in her absence, or he was never worthy of her presence to begin with.
