T
he startle caused my thoughts to dissipate, and suddenly I wondered what I had been so wrapped up in, because lets be honest, my father would have my hide for being so unobservant to my surroundings. Lyden always prided on teaching me about being aware at all times. And how no one was meant to be alone for so long. I let the thoughts float out of my head, I wasn’t about to get down thinking about them again. I let my hazel eyes turn back to Solomon.

I
chuckled, shaking my head at his words. “Lyden has a way of finding things out, I can’t remember the last time I was able to lie to him without him knowing.” The words were filled with reminiscing joy, a soft smile on my face. He spoke of going home with the first eligible bachelor, and I couldn’t stop the chuckle that fell from my lips. If I had done that I wouldn’t be homeless at this moment. I was about to respond when he notices the blue roan mare that approached, and the subject changed quickly.

H
e introduces the two of us, and I stretch my nose out towards the blue roan, Nadja, with a smile. “It’s nice to meet you too!” I’m always excited to meet new people. I left the conversation to the two of them for a few moments, able to read their faces and know that they had their own deal with. I let my gaze wander back towards the water for a moment, giving them as much space as I could in the conversation.

M
y head turned back towards the pair when Nadja asked Solomon about the cove, and asked if I’d seen it. I shook my head, a soft smile on my face. “I’ve only been in the forest, and that was when I was just born. My parents had us go to a new home after that. Since I’ve been back I have yet to go anywhere other than here or the falls.” I gave a distant smile. Looking back towards the two, I wondered to myself if my parents had happened to be here with them, but then again, that was me assuming that they’d been around when my parents had.
