From the shadows she materializes, an onyx woman washed in the pale hues of the moonlight. His eyes are instantly drawn to her as she ventures closer, her strides are cautious and slow. She is rightful to be cautious. These lands are treacherous to the newcomers. Men stalk within the shadows with hunger consuming them and taking others flesh for their own. He has witnessed such atrocities and when he has been able to - he has stopped them. His glacial eyes settle on her as she steps to the edge of the rippling pool, but remains silent until she turns her attention to him.
Hesitation holds her back, he notices the way she distributes weight to hindquarters, and a smile begins to tug at his lips as she offers a shy hello.
"Halló," he offers in his thick northern tongue.
He pauses a moment. His glacial eyes remain on her as he clears his throat and pivots slightly so that he may come closer to her. He takes note of the fresh scent on her onyx coat, she is obviously new to the isles. "It would seem, Ægir, insured that you made it to these shores safely," he muses aloud in a gruff tone. He swivels his head back toward the roaring falls, the water sparkles and shimmers beneath the silvery moon's light.
He flicks his tail across his haunches with a snap before he returns his attention to the woman at his side. Curiosity fills his glacial eyes as he takes in her delicate features and the fine bone of her face. The Isles have a way of pulling the strangers from the ocean's depths, this is something that has always fascinated him.
