Can You Imagine the Magic?

Zimri

Zimri watched him as the stallion seemed to contemplate thoughts far deeper than she could understand. Troubles and pressures seems to weigh on his every feature and she could not fathom what had been said or done to him to make him believe he needed to bear such a burden. Her heart reached out to him and she thought of the terrible fate of so many men she had come across in the seasons she had been here. Watching them act as they did, make choices and rage in such ways she could not comprehend. Violence unleashed against her, and others, the monsters they claimed were within them. She could not understand how stallions were raised to feel such a way.

She looked at the man in front of her, never in pity, but in curiosity and a desire for a connection. He asked if he could come home with her and she hesitated a moment. Ruger’s tolerance for anything was often questionable. She was unsure how he would react if she brought another stallion around and kept him under her care. She had never met the lead of the Prairie, and therefore knew even less about his reaction to yet another male sharing his space. Still, she looked at this stallion and was determined to do what was right.

Yes, you can come with me. I do live with other stallions, and I don’t know what they will say. Even if they try to send you away, I will stay with you until you are rested and at peace. She did not know how disloyal her words sounded. The years she had been gone Ruger had found others. His eyes, his heart, his body had wandered and she understood neither of them were who they had been when they had met, or when she had left. She loved the stallion dearly, and she needed to step into a life that was not centered around him. This man had asked her for help, nothing more. By rights, she could offer it to the furthest extent that she could. And she would. We can go to the Prairie. Stepping to the side, she brushed by him to lead the way to the shore.
