She couldn't help but wonder where the strawberry roan mare had wandered off to when she looked over the rest of the herd that day. She hadn't been on her feet that long since her own birth and though strength wasn't at the top of her game, she was well enough to make rounds and make sure everyone looked okay for the most part. Finding Grier missing on her check was concerning, so she walked off to find her. Picking up the smaller mare's trail, it didn't take the paint long to find herself on the shores of the beachline and memories flooded back of when Zjeena herself lay on this sandy beach and thought she was going to die giving birth to her last child. Shaking the dark memories from her thoughts, Monster kept walking until she heard the soft words and knew that accent. She kept her distance but stayed out in the open where Grier could see her if she looked. That way, she knew she wasn't alone in this. Hours went by but still Monster stood vigil, making sure no predators came sniffing around. She worried for the mare, afraid that her own bad luck had found the roan as she continued to push to no avail. But finally right before dawn, a tiny filly was born and Monster felt her chest constrict with hope as she watched the magical moment between mother and daughter. She looked away to let them have their privacy as they got acquainted and stood watch from them, sticking close to the beach or treeline so the mare didn't feel so crowded. Once they were both up, she dipped her head politely. Grier seemed to have some purpose in mind and she wouldn't keep her from it. "Congratulations, she's beautiful." She murmured to the mare if she was listening. Then she held her ground, letting the mare and her filly wander off if that's what they wanted to do.
