The sun was up! The black colt opened his eyes and blinked multiple times before he gained his bearings. Looking around, he gave a snort before his eyes opened wide. Ears pricked as he twisted his head around to see where his mother, Berit, was. Was she still sleeping too? He started to lift himself to his hooves, getting them under him with no problem before he gave a shake to get the sand off his coat. Then he reached out to nuzzle at Berit's side before he looked around at his surroundings. Where was his brother, Vulcan? He wanted to play! Tossing his head, he gave another snort to clear his nostrils before suddenly jumping up in the air. Squealing, he took off running and bucking, running in circles around the area he and Berit had been hanging out in.
The last few days of his existance had certainly been overwhelming but he was glad things were finally leveling out. He had a mother before but her face was fading in his young memory. He also faintly remembered a golden filly that he played with but she wasn't around anymore. There was a fuzzy memory of his father dragging bodies into the ground but that was going to be gone soon enough. The more recent memories were the clearest for the colt. Spending time with his father who seemed so sad all the time and his older brother who looked after him but didn't pressure him to play when he didn't have the energy. He remembered feeling hungry all the time and being tired all the time. But just when his hope was running out, that's when he met Berit and Vulcan and since then, his body was filling out again and his energy was back at full strength.
Now he wanted to play so who was going to indulge him?
