The small chestnut knew that there was little chance of her absence in Paradise going unnoticed. With as many individuals as were packed into Rougaru's kingdom, sooner or later one would question where his newest trinket had gone. That said, Valka had not seen the bay stallion in so long that she had counted on his distractions - whatever they might be - to hold his attention for longer than they had. As it was, her fiery coat was still tousled and damp when the predatory king arrived, fury evident in every line of his expression as he stalked towards her.

Chyort poberi.

Far from tucking tail and heading meekly back home, the Yakut met the stallion's anger with a fierce flash of her own. In order to find her so quickly, Rougaru would've had to be watching her closely. And with that truth came the strong implication that while he found her worthy enough to hold onto, he had not found her worthy of his time beyond that. When she had first been delivered to Atlantis, Valka had indeed harbored anger - anger directed more at the circumstances that placed her there than at Rougaru himself. But with each day that had passed without the king showing more than a passing interest in her presence - with each day that had passed without a purpose - Valka's resentment had become more personal.

"Fool stallion. Had you but try, maybe you earn loyalty." She spat in response, lunging to one side in an attempt to bypass the blockade of Rougaru's body. It was then that she glimpsed the lone figure of another stallion in the distance, bearing unmistakeable witness to her plight. Another mare might have called out for help, but Valka only needed that single glance to tell her that she would find none from him. If anything, the accursed creature likely waited to jump in if she managed to break away from her captor, so that he might help to drive her back into the sea. Svoloch.

In another quick whirl of motion, Valka turned back the way that she had come and pounded back into the surf as quickly as her short legs could carry her. It was only once she had begun to swim back in the direction of Atlantis that the Yakut came to a devious conclusion. If Rougaru was here, then he was not watching over his home - and if she were to return quickly enough, then perhaps there was still time to strike a decisive blow against him for his arrogance.
