A Mystic, Myth, or Fable...

Ailill
His light blue eyes fluttered open briefly when he heard the approach of another. With a small nod of greeting to her, he continued his steps, sweeping to and fro before spin and stopping with his front facing her, and his chest to the ground in a deep bow. Lady Faolain. His greeting was light and respectful. Other than their first day, the two really had no interaction. She had done nothing to antagonize or harm him and his family, save create an air of uncertainty. In fact, she had done the opposite. She had left them to peace to sort themselves out and had even said they were welcome here, still. Even now, as she stood there she did not challenge him, but was merely curious. He smiled and exhaled. He had the feeling there was a better chance for them all here than they had originally thought.

I was dancing. The stallion said simply with a light shrug of his shoulders. Pondering for a moment, he started to sway again to the rhythm of the wind and the waves. Sometimes you can hear a rhythm in the world. Sometimes it comes from the wind, sometimes the birds are singing in such a way. The night air only offered low thrum of the waves, but still he could find the movement. When you move, your heart starts to beat and you can step to that. To set an example, his swaying moved to steps again. His heart had been pounding from his previous dance, and so he moved to every second beat, slowing into something steady that would be easy to pick up on, and also easy to speed up. He shifted around twice, his hooves creating splashes in the shallow waves to accentuate his steps. With each spin he used his hooves to create arcs of droplets and sand. His eyes fell again on the dark mare who had come to his home… who had decided to call this her home. She reminded him so much of others in his life. His sister, his daughters… He could not feel angry with her, his soul simply would not allow it.

If you would like, I could teach you to dance.
