Will, Thank you for your posting. i have agonized over the very things you addressed for some time - at least since Trump has been in office. I don't know where USA is headed but I don't think I will particularly enjoy the trip with the likes of what you described. Right now, I am glad that my journey will be short because of my age. I just feel so sorry for our children and grandchildren who will have to bear the brunt of this journey - and probably not understand what is happening or the importance of it.
