Mother Goose is just a fairy-tale

Buckskin and white did indeed mar the hairy boy's coat. His feathering hocks were the highlights. Well those and his hair. That flowing mane and tail were something to behold. He did not think himself above all others though. That was a fool's way of thinking and that was not Goose. Quiet and in the background for the most part is how he had been. One would not have pegged him to lead a herd as he was now. It was a change that he hadn't even predicted would be. Goose would not change anything though; not now. It seemed to fit him and the compassionate being that he was. It fit him well it seemed, very well.

Ylva had made a move to take her son and she away until Goose had spoken again. Those rich eyes studied only with curiosity and kindness. As she spoke about having wondered whom had taken the Bay in Liland's absence. It was not so like that though. Liland and he had made a deal but then, the lad had been gone and taken most of his family with him it would seem. Pity that they had never had a chance to get to know one another better. Perhaps it was for the best though. Goose didn't judge one for their past. He judged on what you did in the present and the future. That was what was most important. What happened in the background was not always what it appeared to be. Goose had heard a lot about the stubbornness though. He had witnessed it at times but then, what of the change now? They were gone and everyone was left to pick up the pieces. Some with a broken heart and others with an anger unlike anything else he could have imagined. Perhaps it was justified but who was he to say?

He spoke highly of you in the brief that he mentioned you. I felt sorrow in the loss of a family being ripped apart. There is a pause and his eyes shimmer with the truth of his words. There is sadness there but not for himself. This is sadness for the child and she. The two that would never see Liland again it would seem. At least; that is the assumption of him having left the way that he did. I am sorry so much pain remains in the wake of a stubborn past. He let his anger get the bet of him in the worst of moments. Yes, Goose had not been lack of knowledge in what was going on. He was not going to stand behind though and let another's past ruin him. Goose would hope that Ylva would neither let that happen to her and the child. It is a sorrow that a child will never know their father. I would hope that he at least learns of him when you are ready to tell him. There was not all bad in him. Goose was speaking of Liland of course. There was shame in the stallion that he'd noted but they would never know if he could have changed things now.

Is there too much pain in the Bay that you would not fancy a visit and perhaps see if you would remain with others? Of course he was asking if she'd like to accompany him to the Bay. It as once her home as it was his now. He was not about to place a claim or try and force. He was too compassionate and noble for that. Family was built on strength and love. It was never built on force and hatred.
