Mother Goose is just a fairy-tale

There is always room for demons. To be haunted by things that could not be changed. Goose was no stranger to those kinds of thoughts but he always aimed to do something to distract himself. In moments like this; his focus had to shift. Loire was a big help in that honestly. Goose found himself delighting in their movements so close in proximity. Goose found himself content in their conversation. Those rich eyes steadied on her as she spoke and he listened. Goose was quiet and taking it all in. With her chuckle a laughter shimmered in those eyes and a smile came to his lips again.

"There is always room to wonder. Whatever a reason they had it." One could not possibly know to be fair. Goose had no real answer to give in why they had left the islands. Where had they gone? What reason was behind it all? Was the demons that haunted them just too much in the end? Perhaps. Goose hadn't been a stranger to the rumors after all to know that the stallion in truth; had lost everything. Sure the Bay had been Liland's own, but he had been alone. There is no home without those you love around you. Friends and companions meant everything in a happy home. Solitude where you wanted none was far from entertaining.

"Ah but what demons could such a pretty lady have? Surely nothing that she cannot take care of." There is a soft laugh then before he listens more. Goose frowned a moment in listening as she had mentioned her old home failing her. Goose knew those sorrows too. Not to the same extent perhaps, but he is no stranger to being alone where he'd wanted so much more. Perhaps now that was all changing though. Perhaps so much more was about to be his. Content in the thoughts there, his eyes falter not from her own gaze.

"I do hope that you realize Loire that I've no reason to betray you. It is not my intent to harm or hurt those that call the Bay their home with me. It is my hope that any who stand with me realize that I am here to protect and to guide. I am here to love and to find comfort in a family that will come in time."

Goose pauses from his little speech and his nose snakes slowly toward her own. Gently if the touch were permitted his whiskery nose would trace down against her cheek and a warm breath of air would be expelled. "I only want happiness and compassion for a family that calls this Bay their home. I hope that I've begun finding that." It is not a question but a statement. The words were a strong realization that he had no intention of his new companions finding hurt from him. Goose was here to stay. As long as the Bay would have him, then he would have it. A family; friends. Perhaps in time a legacy all their own. The offspring were the backbone of a herd. They were the future and most important. one did not go out of their way to create numerous beings but to do so carefully. Well planned in the strength of one to another. Only the best in the lines of a family. Goose would breed only to those that would find their way to him. Those that would call this home and he their protector. Goose wouldn't have it any other way. Protect them and guide them. If in time someone aimed to take that from him, then he would come after them. He would take back those he cared about the most. His herd; his family if ever a day came where another may take what was not theirs to have.
