Mother Goose is just a fairy-tale

This mare seemed troubled. This daughter of the former and newly announced Second in the Bay. Goose had not had the intention of leading a herd at first, but Liland had offered it. Liland was done trying to be something he was not. He wanted to try and get his family back but not at the command of a herd. He wanted to return the happiness that had been. Goose didn't understand then why the other had left. Goose had been willing to get to know those that had become his companions. Why had they gone? It still confused him and made little sense.

Leilyn was angry as she took a step toward him with accusations. Words spat from her lips with the confusion and growing anger. Goose does not blame her. Why would he? She is confused as anyone had a right to be. She is surely hurting with what she is being told. She seemed dazed and then there was the eruption toward him.

"Whoa! Calm down. I didn't do anything to him. Liland did love this Bay. You are not wrong but he loved his family more. The Bay had become a burden to him, one that he was tired of trying to hold up." Goose frowned at the thoughts of the history he'd been told. It was brief but it was enough to get a just of what had happened with the former Bay ruler. There is only a pause for a breath and he is continuing.

"I wish I could tell you that he had told me or that I knew where he has gone. Unfortunately that isn't the case. I neither heard nor saw where he went. He told none of us. Not even Glory." She had been Liland's newest girl and he'd promised her change. Why then had he left her too? It didn't make any sense but he could neither find an answer where there was none. "He offered me the leadership and for him to remain as my Second. He wanted to get his family back but not at the expense of the leadership that had brought him so much misery." That was a true enough explanation. Goose had nothing more than that though.

"I am sorry that I cannot offer you more. I wish too that I knew where he was. I wish I knew why he left. Those are not things I can answer though." He pauses then; silent. Goose is watching her and waiting. What now would come of this meeting and their conversation?
