Yesterday after supper we went on a slow drive around the area. On MN Sideroad we saw a pair of Common Ravens along with a group of Wild Turkeys. When the ravens flew up out of the field they were in, one of them showed prominent white streaks along its wings. The birds were a long way off, but even at that distance the white showed up starkly against the rest of the plumage.
Meanwhile, the Tom was busy fluffing himself up and chasing desperately after his harem. They were having none of his advances.
And a pair of Sandhill Cranes completely ignored all of the activity behind them.
