Actions determine the quality of a ruler far more than words. Regardless of how fair you believe it to be, I believe that any who would stand complacent and witness the struggle of a mare trying to win her freedom - and losing - may not be a tyrant, but are certainly complicit in tyranny. Freedom is the right of any creature that lives and breathes.

Have you ever been treated like a belonging? Passed back and forth like a piece of meat? You cannot know how that feels, and thus cannot understand why I will neither submit nor stand beside another male until and unless I know that I can trust them. You have not earned this trust.

You speak also about making a choice as to whether I would have you as a friend or foe, but that choice has been yours from the beginning. And friendship certainly does not begin with the demand that I either treat you as an equal, or face you again in battle.

If that is truly your choice, then it is also your answer.
