The tobiano stallion enjoyed watching the growing admiration on Harlequin's face almost as much as he enjoyed the sight of his new daughter. She wasn't a soft or nurturing mare but he was sure she'd make a damn good mother, even if she had her own doubts. It looked like most, if not all, of those had been stomped away, though. Harlequin carried herself high, looking quite proud of herself as she moved the filly closer for him to meet her. He liked the vivid red color against the white on the filly's coat. She would stand out in the Desert, for sure. He couldn't help but wonder if, as she got older, if the filly would be more sturdy like himself or slender like her mother. Either way, he knew she would be perfect. She was only his second daughter after Paisley, who he still missed so much. He often wondered how her and Primrose were doing and could only hope that some day, he would get to meet her again, at least.

He'd understand if Primrose never wanted to see his face again. As Harlequin got closer, she gave him a grin and he couldn't help but chuckle, his brown eyes twinkling with amusement. She commented on bearing him a child and he smirked, raising a brow. "Oh? I believe the words were 'this pretty face won't be breeding any hardy horses anytime soon.' Did I get it right?" His smirk twitched at the corners as he reminded her of some of her first words to him when he brought her to the Desert. She was always a firey thing but he wouldn't have her any other way. Finally, he pulled his gaze over to the beautiful filly at her side, meeting her own inquisitive eyes as she looked him over without fear or apprehension. It was as if she knew her own connection to him. PRide made his chest puff out a little as he arched his thick neck and reached out his muzzle to her, wanting to take in her scent just as much as he wanted to offer his own.

When he pawed at the sand, the filly was quick to mimic him and he let out a deep chuckle, his eyes glittering with joy as she gave him a look very much like her mother. His gaze drw back to Harlquin as she told him the filly's name, Twinge. His lips pulled into a warm smile as he looked back at her. "Twinge....it's a lovely name." When the mare asked if he approved, his smile only widened. "Always. You haven't let me down yet." He gave her a sly wink even as his lips twitched again in humor.
