Use caution when the wolf comes knocking;

rougaruyou must use caution, when the wolf comes knocking

It goes without saying that in the short time in which he had known her, Rougaru found himself growing more and more fond of her bright spirit that glowed within the rich colors of her eyes. She moved briskly at his side, her strides in unison with his own. Where others might balk at the scars and grizzled features that came with age and battle, she seemed to be unaffected. Her bay and white figure brushes against his own, her small muzzle reaching to nuzzle his. Very few were as open to his touch as Eyota. It was a welcome surprise to the usual aggression or suspicion that the beast was met with. A single ear tilts towards her as she drops back a few strides to bring her head even with his haunches. Her curious tones bring a warm smile to his own lips as he bobs his head gently in acknowledgment. "I suppose you are right." he muses flicking his tail amiably against her slender shoulder.

She does not show any signs of weakness, nor does she ask for him to stop. However he has never forgotten his first experience reaching the islands, nor his second. He can see the exhaustion shadowing behind her eyes, the tension in her muscles that screamed for rest and rebirth. He remembers those days well. It was not once but twice he made the swim and even he felt the ghosts reminders of fatigue now. He is careful to make his steps slow, pausing now and again to rip free his own mouthful of wiry grasses or to scratch at an imaginary itch. Only when they reach the shores does he find his excitement to return to Altantis overwhelm him. Eyota is at his side now, her voice quiet and timid even as she asks how far away his home was. A knowing grin spreads across his lips as he arches his neck, leaning back to nuzzle her muzzle in reassurance. "It is not a far swim little bird." he encourages gently nodding towards the island just beyond the rolling shores. "When the shallow tide returns we will cross, there is a bridge of sand that separates the main island from my own. It stays hidden by water but not enough that you must swim the entire way. Only a small portion is deep enough that a swim is necessary." he adds watching the tides roll over the sands. Multifaceted eyes of emerald scan her speckled hide, taking in the graceful curves and contours of her figure with appreciative eyes. "Tell me more about your home Eyota. The wait will not be long but enough that you might impart on me more of your past. What made you decide to seek the islands? Did you leave behind a family of your own?" he inquires, honestly eager to learn more about the bright eyed mare.
