He couldn't be more appreciative of the fact the mare before him was willing to give the Desert and himself a chance. She seemed more and more curious of his son, Carbon, asking more questions which he was only too happy to answer. She asked if he had taken to forage and Cain gave a sad shake of his head. "Alas, he is too young, only days old. He only got the first few feedings from his mother before she was tragically taken from us." He still flinched at the thought of seeing Geneva, once so full of kindness and life, dying right before his eyes to an infection he couldn't cure. She asked after his age more and he sighed. "He's shown some interest but only plays with the grass. As days go by, he only loses more strength and I fear he won't even be able to chew soon." It was an ongoing problem and the thought of losing his son so soon after losing the other three only broke his heart more and more.
He could see that she was very concerned for his son and it made him only respect her more. Finally he offered a small smile. "Would you like to meet Carbon?" Maybe if she saw the condition the colt was in, she would better understand.
OOC: Oh, it's no problem. Hope you start feeling better soon! Also, we can continue this thread if you want or start a new one since of course, a lot has changed and Carbon is no longer dying. But I'm okay if you want to finish this one with her having learned all this about him when she first got to the Desert.
