The Rules
  • There will be no fraternizing with enemies. If you put yourself knowingly in danger, don't expect a rescue.
  • We are only as strong as our weakest link. See to it that you are getting stronger in some skill that is useful, whether it is battling, recruiting, charming, etc.
  • The King and Queen have final say in all matters.
// ash and cinder, tongues of flame; cain, nadine, the boys

Nadine is young, is vibrant, and it makes her only more glad as they make their way to the Desert. Vibrant of spirit was something the Desert could use, if she were honest. Carbon had livened it up with his survival and his boisterous nature, but there was just something nagging at her gut that said that a young woman full of promise could do as much good as she had done in coming as she had. Perhaps another heart to find solace in the embrace of the good-natured Cain?

Her and her companion would be able to feel the heat, but the beach palms are easy shade near to the cool breeze from off the waters. They could wait there near to shore at the little freshwater pool behind the initial bank-dunes, take a drink or two of it and then bathe the salt from their hides.

The place they made landfall was one worthy of a raised eyebrow or two, not at all deserted comparably to the rest of the land as it sometimes got. This was where she’d come ashore first too, brought to bring Carbon a new lease on life through the gift of milk her son needed so little of. She picks at the seaside grasses after a few eager slurps of water and she sighs as if releasing tensions she hadn’t truly known were there until she was back.

It was probably time Cain understood she was back from the trip he likely hadn’t even realized she’d risked. A sharp whistle to him rises from throat and nostril, a smile of reassurance on her face as she looked to Nadine. "Cain is a good man. He does not take what is not his and does not take what is not offered. You are safe with us. He should be here shortly...." she chuckles a little and nods her head towards what sounded like two boys making a ruckus. "My sons. If they interrupt, just give them a short kick and they’ll leave off." Her fondness of tone belies her feigned nonchalance at her companion kicking them.

"They are good boys, but they are boys enough to make any mare wish to give a good clip to their eartips."
