The recent comments about the head of the Goya company making favorable comments about prez Trump reminded me of my assignment in Hq. USAFE in Wiesbaden, Germany in 1966 just after French president De Gaulle ordered all US forces out of France. Word went out to all units that if they lacked any resource or if our Hq was not responding quickly they were to send a message ASAP entitled "GOYA" which meant "Get off your rear end"(being polite!) and who ever was named was in deep kimchi. I handled the message traffic for about six months until we completed moving every unit and its equipment out and to some other country like the UK or Spain. I enjoyed it and got to meet or make telephone contact with many great AF engineers I'd never met before. So GOYA brings back fond memories!
