When she stomped her hoof, it forced his gaze back to her. Good. He needed to be paying attention. How could she expect him to listen if he was daydreaming? Probably about that blue roan, too. A harsh snort left her flared nostrils at the thought. She knew she was being bitter and jealous but right now, she didn't care. This was the first bit of actual attention from him since the day they met in the meadow and she was going to take it for all it was worth. He was HER king. Time he started acting like it. He looked shocked more than anything when she confronted him about spreading his seed. At first she thought he might play dumb but then she saw something click behind his eyes and her lips twitched toward a sneer. That's right. He figured it out. His ears pinned and he took a step back. Unfazed, Medusa dared to take another step toward him to make up for it. No, he wouldn't get distance to recover, not this time. If he went into the sea, she'd just chase him down. So much for the mare being the one chased, but how else was she going to get his attention?

Her mother would probably roll her eyes if she could see the thoughts floating around in her head. She could practically hear her words now. 'Mares are supposed to be chased. Make him want to chase you.' At this point, she was sure Ironclad just wanted to chase her off Tinuvel, away from him. But she was tired of sitting idly by. No, not anymore. Not ever again. Maybe she was timid when she first came here. New place, new horses. No one in her corner. In time she could change that. In time, all on the islands would know her name. At his own harsh snort, her gae swept back to him, as intense as ever. Then he dared to look out into the sea. She clenched her jaw. Was he thinking about the other mare? Would he run? But mentioning her mother seemed to do the trick. He snapped his head back to her, asking what she was going on about before saying he would never pursue her mother. She gave a huff and pawed the sand at their hooves.

"Well, just checking your standards. Do you only charm queens into having your children or is it more open policy than that?" She growled the words, her ears still flat to her skull. Then he turned it back on her, asking if she was spying on him. In response, she snorted. "If by spying, you mean following my betrothed to see where he spends more of his time than he does with me, then YES, I was spying." She stomped her hoof again. Then her voice got softer, though no less dangerous. "The way you looked at that mare...do you think you could ever look at anyone else like that?" Now she knew she was being petty, and her eyes grew softer in those moments, even vulnerable. It was obvious the words she wasn't saying. 'Could you ever look at ME like that?' Yes, it was way too soon. They barely knew each other, let alone liked each other. And she was already feeling jealousy. Well, this was getting off to a swell start. Obviously her mother didn't teach her very well about being a Queen.
