His dark eyes shift the dark male as he speaks. A momentarily smolder flashes in his eyes as he deciphers if the words are a meant as a challenge or as an explanation for their presence in the Dunes. He swallows back the venom that threatens to spill from his lips and just simply nods his chiseled head. "Then, they are well protected."
But his gaze does not linger on the other long as Maslakhat draws his attention to him. I knew your mother well... and your father. Surprise raises his brows as he swivels his head toward his sister. He places his muzzle gently against her and relief floods him. Bask smiles down on them and good fortune follows them. He returns his dark gaze once again to the trio.
He listens quietly to their exchange. An invitation to stay and to see what has become of his former home. But Maslakhat's words cause a flicker of concern once he mentions a name that is familiar to him. Sayyida. They had only met each other in short passing before the world around him was set ablaze. He flicks his tail across his haunches as he contemplates all that has been lain out before him.
Then once again Maslakhat's sights are set on him - there is warning and challenge in his words. Legacy weighs heavy. He simply nods. "I have no intent of dishonoring the trust of my People."
When his sister does not speak, he takes a moment to glance over at her. And a smile tugs at his lips. She chooses to remain quiet despite what they had just learned.
With a breath on his lips he returns his gaze to the others. "We are honored by your hospitality," he pauses "Show us the way, please."
