She blinks back the tears that brim on her eye lids and a breath is breathed through her flaring nostrils. And then as if the gods have chosen to offer their blessing - she can feel the hammer in her head begin to ease. She pulls her head back from him as he begins to speak. He offers to go and find the medicine woman, but this causes a fresh wave of panic to rise up in her chest. She does not know the dangers of this land nor does she desire to find out.
"I don't want to be left here," she whispers into the small space between them.
She lifts her chiseled head higher on her neck until it is level with his. Her dark eyes settle on him. He does not owe her such a kindness, but he offers himself before her. She swallows back the fear and replaces it with a courage from deep within her soul. "I come with you."
Her heart begins to race in her chest at the thought of entering the sea once more, but she knows to be exposed here and alone would be the death of her - surely. She swivels her pounding head toward the surf, it hisses and bubbles - it warns her of the trials that she will soon endure when she enters their depths once again. But this time she does not go alone.
"Take me with you, walia 'amri" she says once more. She flicks her siler tail across her haunches as her courage chases away the fear and the doubts. "I am unafraid."
