Meadow

Solomon’s flirtations did not fall on deaf years, the blue mare just simply did not know how to receive them. Others had looked on her as though she had been a star amongst the sky, a goddess on the earth. They had never uttered the words but had loved her in their own ways. The stallion who spoke sweet words put her ill-at-ease, still she stayed, trying to convince herself she need not fear everything. To try to convince herself she recalled the calm of the Thicket and let the sweet feeling still soothe her soul.

Her curiosity continued to pique as Solomon spoke to her. Though he did not outright say it, what he offered was exciting and new. But his question made her hesitate. Ruger had brought her to the Prairie and vanished soon after. The Thicket called to her in a way she could not explain, and as she had laid with Rille beneath the flaming trees she felt the sense of security and peace she had been lacking. There had been a knowing she could not deny. She turned her head away, ears flicking around as she tried to find her words. Nowhere, really. Ruger took me to the Prairie, and vanished. I have never really belonged anywhere. Zimri was not so naive to believe this stallion’s intentions were entirely innocent. The season and the nature of stallions was all too well known. Had she found herself in the Common, Zimri was sure this interaction would not have been so polite. Perhaps the Cove is somewhere I belong… Had her tone been anything else, it could have been mistaken for flirtatious. Her timid nature still lingered, preventing her from diving into a new life entirely.

She took a breath, and took a chance. In her heart she felt as though she were changing, turning into someone different than she had been. It was scary. And it was exciting.
