I'm frozen to the bones, I am...

She came to his mind often. Her silvery knotted mane, pale skin and her disapproving scowl. A fond smile tugs at his lips as he thinks of her of Tavas. She had offered wise counsel in a time when there was confusion, chaos all around them and a war brewed on the horizon. She was the beacon that reminded him what was the most important to him - family.

He thoughts darken as he thinks of Warsaw and the bargain the ailing King had struck with him. He grinds his hoof into the bed of pine needles and his brow furrows. All of this is Warsaw's doing. A growl rolls from between his whiskered lips. Warsaw had stole Shaydowfax and his son to the Inlet - where he mistreated them and then used them for his own gain. He grits his teeth together.

A familiar call reverberates off of the dense pine forest around him. He lifts his crown atop his thick, muscled neck and searches for her. It as if the gods heard his thoughts and now bring her forth from the sea. He can feel his heart begin to thud against his ribs and a feeling of anxiety crawls into the pit of his stomach - as the repercussions from his actions begin to settle over his head. She had not been here when he forced her family to leave.

And now she returns to find her family gone.

He breaths a sigh. Its not like this is the first time she has been angry with him.

He pushes himself from the cover of the forest and into the dim light that shrouds the morning. A light fog floats over the yellowed grasses and plumes around him with each stride he takes. It does not take long to locate her, but as he draws closer he can hear her forced breath. Concern and worry fills him as he pushes closer to her.

"Tavas," he whispers her name "Your family is safe and your father is fine," he halts just out of striking distance as he delivers the news to her.
