He ignored her chastising, enjoying the spice behind her scolding tone and the roughness in her grooming. His skin twitched mildly at her bite, but his father had done much worse to him and he hardly felt it. ”I thought you liked chasing, little bird,” he chided with a smirk, but the red mare had caught sight of the object of Romulus’s irritation. They stood there observing the voyeur until Minthe spoke, placing another nip on his withers and causing his skin to jump again. Their hides parted as she distanced herself from him, and his dark ears flicked in mild irritation before flattening completely at her cruel bite. That one stung, and he let out a sharp grunt of his own as she dipped out of their little clearing. She was quick, and though Romulus threw his head forward to leave a punishing bite on her hindquarters, his teeth met only air, filled with her scent. He snorted loudly, pushing the scent out of his nostrils, dispelling the last of his short-lived aggression at her attack.

Now, he watched with only mild irritation as the red mare drew the voyeur - a skinny stallion of a similar build to hers - out of the shadows. No, he did not particularly care to keep mares, especially spicy ones like Minthe, but he had hardly been granted enough time to really enjoy himself. He knew he should turn away, let the slippery mare torment the new stallion, but Minthe had built him up and now he had tense energy roiling inside of him. There were only two satisfying releases for such energy, and he knew the red mare was not going to assist him with the release he wanted. The stallion, however, seemed all too happy to give him the other one. He emerged from the trees with a taunting display of lashing tail and pawing hooves, and Romulus wasted no time taking the offer.

He pushed forward through the trees with his head snaked low, passing the red mare with hardly a glance; she had served a purpose, even if it was just to get him worked up, and he knew she would offer him nothing else. He would not bother asking, especially when the smoky stallion before them was just begging for Romulus to let out his frustrations. He picked up a few quick strides of canter before crashing into the other stallion’s space, his head lifting only enough to aim blunt teeth at the soft, dark skin of Zahhāk’s belly. Dirt flew from his hooves as he pushed into the earth to slow himself, but he did not stop after his attack; instead, he pulled his head up the rest of the way and circled, coming for the other stallion’s slender neck this time. He reared, intending to come down hard with both teeth and hooves, but he knew the other was likely just as fast as the red mare had been. He half expected his hooves to come crashing down into empty dirt, having met no obstacle on the way down, but he tried anyway, throwing his substantial weight into the attack.

When he was finished dishing out blows and receiving his own share of the beating, Romulus backed off, chest heaving. All of Minthe’s hard work had gone to waste, for he was sweaty and dirty once again, and he gave a sharp bark of laughter. He dipped his head once to Zahhāk before departing, leaving in the direction he had come.

ooc: Zahhāk can land any hits! Romulus is a stubborn jerk and would 10/10 pretend like he doesn’t feel them :’) he deserves to get hit lmfao
