My daughter gave me a three volume account of the life of the author of Don Quijote and many other works of poetry, theater and Spanish history. No doubt he is Spain's greatest author. He was captured at the naval battle against the Turks at Lepanto and held for five years at a prison in Algeria and there began to write his first works. Quite a guy! I didn't wear out my Spanish dictionary but came close. My daughter asked me to look up words I don't know and write in the definitions which slowed me down but it all worked out!
