The Rules
  • There will be no fraternizing with enemies. If you put yourself knowingly in danger, don't expect a rescue.
  • We are only as strong as our weakest link. See to it that you are getting stronger in some skill that is useful, whether it is battling, recruiting, charming, etc.
  • The King and Queen have final say in all matters.

He watched all the emotions flutering in the gray mare's eyes and his own only softened with patience and understanding. He wanted her to know that he didn't blame her for the wounds on his flesh. He knew Cerosi would never ask someone to fight in her stead. After all, he had tried to make it understood that she would always have a choice in the matter and whenever she wanted to leave, she could do so. She told him she had no idea and then apologized. With a soft snort, Cain shook his head. "I know you didn't. It's not your fault, Cerosi." He studied her expression, wondering what she was thinking. She seemed suddenly smaller before him and that wasn't what he wanted at all. His ears flicked back in uncertainty before he spoke again. "I don't want you to blame yourself for this. You are a beautiful mare. Stallions would have to be blind not to notice you. I don't want you to think you shouldn't explore or put yourself out there. I knew the burden I took on when I signed up to lead this herd. I don't regret my decision and I would gladly fight for you over and over again if it were asked of me. That is my role as your protector."

When she said that she hoped Ironclad learned his lesson, he couldn't help but chuckle. "Well, I hope he learned something. I know he felt my teeth and my weight on his back so he'll probably be sore." He snorted again. "But I hold no ill will toward him either. He was trying to put himself out there, fight for something he wanted and that's admirable in a young stallion. Maybe he didn't go about it the right way, but not every stallion would just agree to let a mare go if she asked it of him." He smiled at her, hoping she understood that he would never try to keep her here, any of them.
