 Winter's frigid breath leaves the Inlet frozen in place - the streams bubble beneath a sheet of ice and brittle grasses are buried beneath shimmering snow. It is a frigid lonely land, much like its King. He stands idle beneath the boughs of the Evergreen tree, glacial eyes glare out at the world around him. He has become much like the land - frozen and stoic. It is what Odin demands of him. Feelings and love were for the weak hearted. He had believed such things could be for him, but he was wrong. And a fool for thinking of such fairytales. If he wanted anything than he would take it - just as he did with the Inlet. Damned the consequences or their feelings. A gust of wind pushes itself against his fuzzy smoky coat and he drops his head, grits his teeth and takes her frigid breath. He closes his eyes beneath frost laden lashes and breathes a plume of fog around him. His fuzzy ears flick atop his crown and catch an intruders far off call. His eyes pop open and a scowl contorts his lips. He has no interest in visitors today. Visitors bring trouble. He pushes himself from beneath the cover of the trees and in to the brilliant sunlight. His hooves move silently through the snow and his legs carry him with strength across the drifts of snow. He takes swift steps toward the distant call and his glacial eyes narrow as the source of the cry begins to take shape. His ears lay against the sinew of his neck as he draws to a halt. He warily eyes the young filly. "What do you want?" he asks gruffly. She is young and has an uncanny familiarity - that leaves him suspicious of her arrival. Bera Konung of the Inlet |
