 He pushes himself from the shadows, each step causes an inward wince while his face remains stoic and cold. His glacial eyes waver from the falls to a familiar face. He does not know her name nor did he ever ask. His eyes only remain on her a brief second before he trains his focus on the frigid pool waters. He does not slow until his front hooves are at the edge of the ice rimmed pool. A single ear flicks in her direction as she paws the earth and murmurs into the still night air. You are hurt. More then she could ever know. The wounds of his skin would heal, but it is the ones of the soul that torment him. They remind him of the life that he could of have... with Siobhan, with his children. And now he has left it all behind, a second time - he tries to convince himself it is for the best. She deserves something better and he could never force her to chose him. She ventures closer, wariness in every step. He does not retreat before her nor does he step away - he just stands there like a stone, unwavering and unmoving. He watches her while she drops her muzzle to the waters surface and then presses her muzzle into his side. His skin twitches as she gently caresses the scrapes along his side. His ears waver uncertainly atop his head - she is gentle and kind, he does not deserve her charity. Why are you so unkind to yourself? He swivels his crown so that he can look into her dark eyes - his gaze is icy and frigid like the winter's chill. "I repay myself for the wrongs I have done," he whispers in a hoarse voice "I don't deserve you kindness. It is best that you leave." He drops his gaze from her and then returns it to the pools.
