 "Sigurðr," Björn glacial eyes find his sons "To be a memorable King you are going to have to make choices that are hard. And you are going to have to sacrifice how you feel for what is better for your children and their children." Sigurðr listens intently. His father has been through many trials and tribulations - taken lives when he had to and protected the innocent the best he could. He looks into the glacial eyes of his father, there is wisdom there and he would be a fool to deny that. He has sacrificed so much lately, yet, here he is standing in the Móðurland victorious and despite the weariness in his gaze. He is ready to continue to fight for his family and the legacy of his father. He lifts his head proudly, he would make his father proud and learn what he needed in order to be a successor one day. An unfamiliar call splits the air and causes both of them to swivel their heads toward the distant pebble shore. Björn's ears waver atop his crown - there as been to much hostility for him not to feel instantly on edge. He nods and they together stride toward the shore. A gust of frigid wind tosses their mane and wraps itself around them. Matching glacial eyes find the source of the call and the unease increases. A young stallion finds himself on the shores of the Inlet. "Stay here son," Björn says before he ventures closer. He drops his muzzle towards his chest, postures and then glides toward the younger stallion with his neck arched. Muscles ripple beneath his winter coat and fog plumes around his nostrils with every breath. "Heil og sæl," he pauses a breath as he warily eyes the man before him "What brings you to the frozen north, stranger?" |
