Boss's Decree

"For every brother you bring to our
midst, you may keep a trinket all to
yourself. She will not be sullied or traded, unless you deem otherwise. But should you bring a mare here without a new brother first, then I will consider her property of the Lagoon as a whole
and do with her as I see fit." - Garmr

Rules

• The Lagoon is where homeless stallions come to live as a brotherhood. Mares may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Soldiers keep mainly to fighting, Thieves keep mainly to raiding, and Associates may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Marauder or Boss for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Boss maintains order within the Lagoon and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Lagoon works on the Rules page.

• Upon election, the Boss can issue a rule for members to follow during their tenure. It is up to leadership to enforce.

comfort me with apples, for i am sick of love CULLEN

Solomon
The conversation with Collision Course had been enlightening in many ways. The opinions of Cullen across the land were mixed, but with both Warsaw and the black overo stallion speaking on behalf of the Lagoon Leader, Solomon was willing to take a chance on him. In truth, he had already promised one of his sons to the Lagoon upon their first birthday, but he had little faith in the chocolate-colored colt to have conveyed such details to his superiors. He had been so green around the gills it was surprising he hadn't dashed into the water to breathe.

Still, if he had not found the silver colt apprehending Shenzi, he would have not so easily rid himself of Coda. Nor would he have had Shenzi to trade for Golden Illusion, not that she had been of any use in that regard. The flighty mare had made herself scarce long before Solomon had promised her to Maslakhat.

Both faces swim in his mind as he meanders across the crossing aisle, a singular purpose in mind. Considering the season it was relatively simple to keep from being distracted, considering few mares were out wandering this late in the season. He was left to his thoughts as his hooves crossed over into the Lagoon territory proper for the first time, but quickly broke from them to look around. The southernmost tip of the land, which was really the only part he was familiar with, was muggy and thick with the damp marsh for which the land was named for. However, here, so close to the rest of the Crossing, it was almost pleasant landscape wise. The ground was flat, and while he assumed it would also be uncomfortably warm in the summer months, was a welcome respite to the bitter cold of the Cove.

A movement off to the side caught his eye and he oriented toward the glimmer of gold, initially believing it to be the leader of the land. Solomon raised his head and called out for Cullen, but the figure didn't seem drawn to the call, and so he approached with curiosity instead. Surely the Lagoon Boss would come to find him eventually, and if this was an additional escapee, stopping them would likely earn him some bonus points.

As he drew closer, it became more obvious that the slender figure that stood alone was no masculine stallion, but a rather cold young mare. She looked like those finely bred creatures that inhabited the Dunes, but the way she seemed almost lost suggested that she had no idea where she was. Perhaps a new arrival then? He remembered washing ashore with that same wide-eyed nervous fascination as the knowledge that all he had known was now gone.

More gently, the tobiano stallion nickered to the mare as he closed the remaining distance and settled close by. He was careful not to intrude on her space, seeing as he was not entirely sure of her position here. After all, he had not seen Cullen himself, and had only the description of his golden coat to go by. Perhaps this was a daughter or other relative of his? Pricking his ears forward, he offers a mild grin before greeting her. "You look a little lost. Do you know where you are?"

If she was a Lagoon captive, it was a loose enough greeting to hopefully not give offense, while also giving him an advantage if she was truly a new arrival. It would be easy enough to worry her with the knowledge that she had landed in a den of all stallions, and perhaps prove enough to convince her back to the Cove.

Of course, Cullen could arrive and throw a wrench into the plans, but Solomon's mind was already spinning with the possibilities of what he could exchange for the pleasure of taking this enchanting young mare home.
