How you found out about us - I played here for a very brief time a few years ago but unfortunately that time did not work out. I've been aware of TLI for a long time though through ads on various other RPGs.
--------------------
The slow but steady passage of time and near constant travel had become such a norm that at this point Harlow was beginning to accept that this was the life that he was meant to live, a slave to the wind - wherever it willed him to go. The life of a nomad did have it’s perks but it would be deceit to say that he did not crave the strength of numbers and the bond of a pack. He was a wolf and wolves belonged with a pack, so it was only natural for him to feel such desires. But here he was... alone still; even after making at least a considerable effort to join multiple packs throughout an array of lands. Even going so far as to become Beta of one. But those packs had been disasters from the start and he’d been forced to search elsewhere when they each fell apart beneath lackluster leadership, some much quicker than others. It was sad really.

The fact that he’d spent a decent amount of time with each left Harlow in a sour mood; angry for many reasons about the past months and the outcomes of his recent experiences. The temptation was there to stand up to these so-called leaders at the time, to knock them down a peg… or a few, but would it have really made a difference? "Was it what he really wanted?"

Harlow rolled his saffron eyes a bit at the errant musings… like he would have been suited for Alpha. But at least he would have been better than the lot he’d met thus far. A sly twist came to his lips and a devilish thoughts glinted in his eyes in the dim light as he crunched on a leg bone of a rabbit he’d just caught a short while ago, in preparation to wait out the brewing storm. He’d sensed the weather changing in the air and the scents earlier that day thanks to his particularly keen sense of smell but it’d been pure luck that he had happened to snag the rabbit and reach the shelter of the cave not long before the deluge began.

The black phase wolf been content to relax and enjoy his meal when an unexpected sound coming from the entrance of the cave captured his attention, causing his ears to swivel and cup towards the origin. He froze, daring only to lightly run his tongue over his bloody lips, but otherwise focused intently into the distance. Thankfully he was a small ways into the mine-like cave, not immediately near the mouth, so at least there was a chance that he could maintain the element of surprise for a time longer…. However, Harlow realized that it would only be a matter when and not if the stranger realized they were not alone.

Taking care to remain as silent as possible, Harlow rose from his laying position, leaving the remnants of the rabbit on the cave floor, and moved to investigate. He moved tensely and with hackles raised and nose testing the air, unsure of who or what exactly to expect. Normally it would have been a challenge to scent much in the damp, earthy cave from very far away but with the now pouring rain outside, the draft that it created pushed a wave of scents towards him. For a moment he did not think anything odd, other than the fact that another wolf had decided to shelter here as well… but then he really began to pay more attention to the scent. Was it familiar? Did he know this wolf? To be honest, Harlow really wasn’t entirely sure; so when he emerged into the area of the cave in which he should be in sight of this other wolf he did so with a low rumbling growl from deep in his chest, a warning that he would defend his right to shelter here if that was their intentions, to run him out.
