Boss's Decree

"For every brother you bring to our
midst, you may keep a trinket all to
yourself. She will not be sullied or traded, unless you deem otherwise. But should you bring a mare here without a new brother first, then I will consider her property of the Lagoon as a whole
and do with her as I see fit." - Garmr

Rules

• The Lagoon is where homeless stallions come to live as a brotherhood. Mares may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Soldiers keep mainly to fighting, Thieves keep mainly to raiding, and Associates may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Marauder or Boss for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Boss maintains order within the Lagoon and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Lagoon works on the Rules page.

• Upon election, the Boss can issue a rule for members to follow during their tenure. It is up to leadership to enforce.

seems like you could use a little company from me

KENDRY
Resigned is perhaps not the correct word for how he's feeling, but there is certainly no triumph in his bearing as Kendry stands, idle, in the heart of bachelor territory. He has walked a wayward path and, for a time, departed from this land vowing never to return, even fought against it by the request of another— told yet another stallion to reject the life of a bachelor and pursue better things. But the perlino has changed much since then. He understands now what is to be done. Not for her, no, but for himself.

Perhaps it is redemption he seeks, but Kendry knows he will not find it at the feet of another. He has laid his life aside for others too many times to count, always following the whims and opinions of those he has sought to impress with no real thought to why or whether it was truly in line with his desires. No more, he has decided. And where better to reclaim and recover that independence than here, the Lagoon, a land he has called home more often than not and loved more than any island ringing the Crossing and has denied, time and time again, simply because he believed others reviled it— horses he desired a good opinion from, horses who have failed to maintain a place in his life in any capacity.

Kendry has ceased reaching for the regard of others.

He stamps a hoof and snorts, then casts about with his blue eyes to see what can be done with the rest of his day. The usual musk of stallion is light and, one might argue, stale. He wonders what depleted their numbers so; perhaps the war was not favorable to the bachelors and those who fought against.... whatever cause it was Ruger had implored him to support in exchange for a place to call home.

See how meaningless? he chides himself. Not your own cause, and thus not even memorable enough to hold space in your head after a year. That's not true. It's there, he knows. Murky and swimming in the depths of that which he will not acknowledge or pursue, not right now. Not right now. He snorts and steps out to seek whoever remains in the Lagoon, wandering with a heavy, unhurried tread through the familiar groves strung through his home, his tracks a solitary, measured line in the snow behind him.

He is beholden to no one, here.
