Solomon
Solomon watched the slender wraith-like mare as she stood in the water, distorting the flow of the liquid so that it swirled around her in eddies that briefly caught the light. When she did speak, it was so quiet as to cause him to hold his breath to hear it over the dull roar of the Falls and he leaned toward, her subtly to catch the soft words. A grin slides onto his lips as he replies, "I know the feeling..."

He almost offers for her to come and try the water in the Cove. While similarly fed by mountain snowmelt, the Cove's lake had only just begun to melt as winter wore into spring and the water, when you stepped into it, was so cold as to take your breath away. If that did not chase away her wandering thoughts, Solomon did not know what would. But before he can offer, a movement to his side catches his attention, and he yields just enough to make out the pale figure of Kendry as he approaches.

In truth, the sight of the pale stallion gave rise to a mixture of emotion within the tobiano stallion that he did his best to quell before it reached his face. Having forced himself to watch as Kendry and Tavas departed to tour Tinuvel had not been easy, and even though Tavas had finally returned to him, he could not help but wonder what had occurred between them. Still, Kendry was no enemy, and in the loosest sense of the word could almost be construed as a friend, so Solomon did his best to tamp down his annoyance that he had been approached while wooing a mare and offered a sly grin that curved wickedly across his charcoal lips.

"You know me, can't help but get my feet wet every once in a while." As Kendry settled closer, Solomon was initially surprised to find the scent of the Lagoon on the stallion before rationalizing that it made sense. He had considered taking on the cream-colored stallion as his regent, but that had been before Bjorn's rash decision to take the Inlet had resulted in Warsaw and his family joining his own herd in the Cove. Now, as much as he would like a level headed lieutenant that had no ties to the political climates of the islands, he was no longer in a place to make such an offer. The best he could give to Kendry now was hardly more than a glorified guardpost among his large herd, and considering he still had most of Warsaw's sons, he doubted that this would appeal to Kendry. And where was a stallion to go without a herd but the Lagoon?

"I'm surprised you didn't stop by after your tour of Tinuvel. Not to your liking?" As the conversation flowed, and his initial annoyance ebbed, Solomon found that he didn't really mind that Kendry was here. Solomon would never turn down another mare for the Cove, and still intended to make such an offer to the lovely water-wraith eventually, but it had not been his goal. In truth, he hadn't had any true purpose for coming to the Crossing today other than that he missed traveling. With Daciana and Marzanna at his side, he'd felt free to wander as far as Salem and Atlantis without even batting an eye, entirely certain that his loyal lead mares would protect the herd while he continued to grow it in other ways.

But this fall and subsequent winter had been hard. Instead of spending the winter travelling, he'd spent it recuperating, barely venturing beyond his own borders. It was not a bad life, but it was not an exciting one either. Kendry had seemed to possess that same desire to go out and travel, having voiced as much at their first meeting in the Commons, and he was curious to see if the other male had gone elsewhere in his travels without the restriction of having a herd to look after and return to.

Aikoh's words and subsequent movement distract Solomon from such a line of questioning, and he instead turns back toward her slow emergence from the frigid water. Stray droplets flung by her shaking scatter across his thick coat without penetrating beneath and a wry smile emerges as he studies her. Her slender legs and feminine build are accentuated by the wetness of her coat, and while the fall season no longer clouds his mind with constant lecherous ideas, he can well appreciate her beauty.

She goes on to explain that she is new here, and he nods, not entirely surprised. She had that look of someone who was still absorbing new information, and he suspected he had worn a similar look when he'd first washed ashore in this foreign land. "Welcome to the islands, then, Aikoh. I am Solomon, of the Cove. It's part of an island to the north called Tinuvel." he offered with a warm, crooked grin before gesturing to the pale giant stallion at his side. "And this is Kendry."

"You can come closer if you like, I imagine either one of us could help block the wind." Solomon towered over most on these isles at 17 hands, but Kendry stood even higher at the shoulder and possessed a heavier, draft like build. In truth, Kendry looked more suited to the harsh climate than Solomon did by looks alone, but they walked very different paths. He paused for a moment, glancing at his ghost-like companion to see if he would interject with any other information before continuing with a secondary gesture to the land around them. "This is the Crossing island, where most come to socialize or find homes. The other islands lay out on the outskirts of the Crossing - Salem, Atlantis, Luthien, and Tinuvel, where my home is."

In truth, this was often far more information than he offered up on a first meeting, traditionally. Normally, he'd already be attempting to get close to her, capitalizing on her newness and the fact that she was soaking wet in the middle of winter to earn her good favor and win her over with affection. Such an endeavor was not possible with Kendry so close, but Solomon didn't mind.

Honestly, his mares might eat him alive if he brought home another mouth to feed right before they all gave birth.
