Boss's Decree

"For every brother you bring to our
midst, you may keep a trinket all to
yourself. She will not be sullied or traded, unless you deem otherwise. But should you bring a mare here without a new brother first, then I will consider her property of the Lagoon as a whole
and do with her as I see fit." - Garmr

Rules

• The Lagoon is where homeless stallions come to live as a brotherhood. Mares may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Soldiers keep mainly to fighting, Thieves keep mainly to raiding, and Associates may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Marauder or Boss for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Boss maintains order within the Lagoon and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Lagoon works on the Rules page.

• Upon election, the Boss can issue a rule for members to follow during their tenure. It is up to leadership to enforce.

Mother Goose is just a fairy-tale

Easily won? Hardly. It was at least good that Cullen did seem to realize that. He was the underdog here even if he had won Goose. He might be a prisoner but he was definitely not a fool. What was up for offer was something. He did not wish harm to Valka of course as the mare had proven herself. Could Cullen not see that? Perhaps not seeing as Valka had lost Goose to him in a battle. Maybe he saw the mare as a one time winner. That was a good possibility in the minds of most stallions who were only out seeking power and numbers. Goose had a family. Goose had something to look forward to. His Loire was home in the Bay where he felt her and their little to be safer. He felt comfortable with her there. Why would he believe that she'd be safe here? Cullen and he knew so little about one another but he wasn't wrong. Goose did care deeply for those he loved. They were not property though. Loire was his companion. She was his everything and yes, he might miss the birth of their little feathered child. Pure blood ran through that foal that would come into the world in spring. A feathered beauty. Goose is definitely convinced that child would be stunning. Something of wonder in the future. Likely to win the hearts of many. Whether a male or a female, this child of theirs would be something to look for in the future.

Goose returns his attention from those thoughts though and listens. Cullen is speaking and the painted stallion does not interrupt him though; he could. That was stupid though. One wouldn't want to be interrupted either and so; there is silence while the other spoke. There is silence and a threat in the end of it and Goose plays it through his mind. To have another use? A threat in perhaps this one being a punching bag. Not a thing to have happen. No. Flicking an ear a bit he clears his throat. Goose is speaking then. "I feel her safer there, even if I am here when our child comes into the world. But I will be there to be a part of his life growing up." It was not a threat but a promise. This agreement was not permanent by any means. He would not stay a prisoner long.

"You talk a lot for someone whom has lost almost everything to this point." There is a moment or two of silence. "You are in no position to really threaten others you know. It is not in my mind to challenge those words right now though." His eyes glance away and over the landscape. His eyes take in what they can before he shifts his attention back to Cullen. "Let's see what you got then in the way of training. Experience is something that no one really should turn down. It is with practice that you get better after all." There is a dry chuckle there and he is quiet a moment or two. Mulling over more thoughts in his mind. Again; he has spoken. "I will not judge now of your gaining my trust in the future. I will see in due time whether or not you are worthy of it Cullen." Then there is silence and he watches; waiting.
