Red-necked Phalarope

This morning at the Bracebridge Ponds there was a Red-necked Phalarope in cell 3 in front of the treatment plant. This is about the same time we found them there last year (two on Sept. 5, becoming three on Sept. 6). Unfortunately the water level has been raised in cell 2, so no more beach for the migrating shorebirds...there was still a small area of mud near the northwest corner of cell 1, but no birds. A Lesser Yellowlegs with a hurt leg was at the east shoreline of cell 3, along with a Spotted Sandpiper. A juvenile Great Blue Heron was at the southwest corner of cell 4 again. There have been many small Leopard Frogs in that area, so plenty of food for it.
